Utilis USA and its industry partners were pleased to exhibit several new technologies at JOCOTAS 2011. These included energy efficient shelters, single skin collective protection shelters, large command and control TXL shelter, alternative energy flexible photovoltaic solar panels and overhead ballistic threat protection.

The 3-minute set-up of the Utilis TM36 was also demonstrated for customers and competitors alike.

The Utilis USA standard Thermal Fly has proven a 26% reduction in air condition power consumption compared tothe current standard small shelter, significantly reducing sustainment costs. The Utilis USA TM series has been a platform for Air Force testing of new insulated liner systems with the goal of reducing the environmental control by 50%. To increase energy efficiency, Utilis has investigated new technologies such as ceramic coatings to apply to its Thermal Fly. Solar Off Loading Technology (SOLT) was displayed by Insulating Coatings of America, INCA on our TM54 Tall Shelter. The Tall configuration of the TM series of shelters adds an additional 1 ½ feet of height and width.

Utilis USA, BondCote, Production Products and Celina Tent partnered to develop a shelter to provide chemical and biological Collective Protection (Col Pro) without an additional liner. This protection, known as a single skin Col Pro, greatly simplifies the deployment of systems. The external frame of the Utilis shelter is an ideal design to incorporate this protection.

Utilis USA also presented our large 29 ft wide TXL shelter which can be used for vehicle maintenance or command and control purposes. The eyelid opening is convenient for entry and exit of large vehicles or equipment. Another option for the TXL is the Flat Endwall which saves weight and reduces set-up/strike time while still providing a large interior space.

Working together, Utilis USA and Energy Technologies, has developed solar panels that are integrated onto our Thermal Fly. The Thermal Fly can easily be deployed over our shelter to reduce solar loading on the shelter itself thus increasing the energy efficiency alone. The Thermal Fly with integrated solar panels has successfully generated 4 kW of power at peak on our TM60 shelter. Textech Industries displayed its ballistic panels made from patented high-strength composites which can be easily fitted to our TM or TXL shelters to provide expeditious protection.

Congressman Jeff Miller visits Utilis USA

On August 4, 2010, Utilis USA had the pleasure of hosting Congressman Jeff Miller (R-FL-01) at its Fort Walton Beach facility. Following a tour of the production floor, the congressman was shown the Utilis tactical shelters and other combat support equipment. Advances in expeditionary solar power and energy efficiency were also demonstrated.

Utilis USA Fishing Team

The Utilis USA fishing team captained by Steve Sollenberger placed second in the Xtreme Redfishing Tournament in Tampa Florida. Sollenberger posted a two fish combined weight of 11.95 lbs.

We set this site up for you, the operator, to post your comments. No one knows your mission better than you and we are constantly improving our product based on your comments and suggestions.
